Liam turned 11 months today! He is pulling himself to stand and cruising all along the furniture. Tonight, he stood by himself for the first time. I don't know how you judge when it's long enough to "count", but I would say it was "one-one thousand, two one-thousand", so I will count that! :) He still isn't really any closer to crawling. He will pivot in a circle on his stomach and scoot backwards a bit, but that's about it. I don't think crawling is his thing. He's definitely much closer to walking, and he can do that just holding onto our fingers when he's in the right mood.
You'll notice in the picture that he his sans DOC band. On Sunday while at D's parents' house, we took it off for a breather, and my SIL noticed he had a red sore spot above his ear. Sure enough. It was rubbed raw :(. We were originally told that if that happened, not to put the helmet back on until the spot went away. So it stayed off the rest of the day Sunday and all through the night. Monday at daycare they noticed the spot was back, so off it stayed. He had his first appt Tuesday, and I'm happy to say that he's made some positive progress already! But, the sore was still there. So they had us leave it off again until today, and he's been wearing it since.
So we got to have our happy boy back for awhile there, and we enjoyed every second of it! So now, I guess we're just taking one day at a time. We were about ready to throw the dumb thing out the window of a fast moving car, but knowing that he's making progress already is encouraging. His personality is definitely more subdued and unhappy with it though. We are worried that it's going to take away what little good nature we've managed to finally get from him. So again, one day at a time now, but we definitely are not going to make him suffer through raw spots on his head! So we shall see how this adventure plays out!
