So yesterday was my shower, and I'm still pregnant!  Score!  Obviously for awhile there we didn't know if I would even make it to my shower, but things went off without a hitch.  I ate some cake, and then some more cake. Oh yeah, and then some cookies.   It was good to see everyone, although I *really* don't like showers, especially when they're mine. There aren't too many things I enjoy less than opening gifts in front of a group of people.  I was just sweating up there like I was under a spot light or something!   I guess I really don't like being the center of attention.  I was much more aprehensive about my bridal shower though, so luckily this was a tad better than that since it wasn't really "me" who was the guest of honor! I don't have any pictures yet, but I will post them when I do.

My sister came down from MN for the weekend.  We went to visit her best friend who has a 4.5 month old baby (her first).  It was helpful for me just to be around someone else and their baby, as I really don't even have experience with that!   I am really ready to be done being pregnant, but I am not sure how ready I feel to actually be caring for a newborn!  It still seems like a really daunting task at hand, and it's coming up quickly!

I am headed outside soon to pull some weeds and maybe plant some flowers. Hopefully the little dude won't think that is too much activity!

Back in Business

So I was so excited to come back to work today, but I must say, the novelty is already wearing off!  Maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to judge the appeal of being at home in sweats day after day and lounging on my couch and the deck!   I felt pretty overwhelmed with my work load there, but here it seems completely manageable.  Funny how that works.  I did look down at one point today and realize I had crumbs all over my belly.  *SIGH*.   That really doesn't fly around the office, you know? 

So I had an appt today, and I don't have to go back until the end of next week.  She has basically released me to "use your judgement" status, and if it makes you feel crappy, stop doing it.  I can go for a walk now!  SWEET.  I am excited to rejoin the real world again.  I've been doing things little by little, such as grocery shopping and running errands, and everything is status quo. She said there is no way to predict whether I will make it to my due date or not. 

Some friends of mine who do wedding videography in addition to their day jobs offered to do some maternity pictures for us. We weren't really sure we planned to do those pics, but since the price was right and they were willing to come to our house last week, we went for it. I haven't seen many of them yet, but I thought the one below turned out pretty well considering it was taken in my basement!
