37w, 4d No Action Yet

Just thought I'd give a quick update that there's no update!  I feel like all the bedrest drama turned into a bunch of hurry up and wait, as that is pretty much where I'm at now.  Waiting.  And waiting.  I have had my final shower with my coworkers, so there really is nothing that needs to be done. D even installed the car seat today!  I watched, b/c I am helpful like that :-)   I have washed all the clothes, bought baskets and bins to organize everything on the changing table shelves, arranged the nursery and started packing my bag.  We made a $300 Coscto trip last night to stock up, so we have enough pita chips and Gatorade to last us a long time! We also went to our "taking care of your newborn class" so we are fully informed now. (yeah right!)

Last night was the first night my Carpal Tunnel didn't make sleeping an excruciating event.  For that I am thankful.  This last week has been pretty rough.  I am now seeing an Occupational Therapist.  Sometimes working in healthcare has major benefits, as I don't even need to go outside to get to her from my office!  She has me wearing the braces at night, and some "kinesi-tape" (?) on my wrists during the day.  There isn't too much else that can be done apparently. I also ice before bed.  All in all, I am just ready to be done being pregnant and can't wait to meet the little dude.

I will post some pics of the finished nursery soon.

Wrist Braces and Belly Pic

So I had an appt today, and I learned that the ridiculous burning and throbbing pain in my hands, fingers and wrists lately while trying to sleep is pregnancy-induced Carpal Tunnel!  This is apparently extra fluid pressing on the tendons, and I have to get fitted for wrist braces/splints to wear to bed.  The fun never ends.   Hopefully it will help though, as it's been keeping me up at night, and I really don't need any additional 'help' in that dept.  She also gave me a prescription for Zyrtec D, to hopefully help with the never ending sinus congestion that I have been dealing with for the last 32 weeks.  Nothing much else to report.  I am not dilated yet, but she said my cervix is definitely thinning.

Belly pic taken tonight after dinner. I have officially gained 40 lbs! 46 counting the extra from the Clomid, Femara, and Follistim.

Also, here is a picture of D's finished nesting project!
I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day. I received a few gifts in honor of the holiday, and frankly, that just feels so weird to me. I don't feel that I have done anything to deserve a Mother's Day gift at this point. I feel like all I have done is to be on the right end of the statistics with injectibles, and to have gotten lucky. Since then I've just gained 40 lbs and missed sushi and alcohol!  Being a mother obviously involves much more than that, and I only hope I can rise to the challenge and honor.
