So the other night Liam rolled over! And we got it on video, with music! For some reason Blogger will not accept it as a "supported" file type to attach. Boooo. D recorded it on his iPhone. So if I can figure out how to change the format to a blogger-friendly version, I will definitely do that so I can attach it. We cheered so loudly for him when he finally did it :) We also set up his Jumperoo last night, and he seems to be a fan of that after playing in the one at daycare. He's just barely big enough for it on the lowest setting, but he likes to "stand", so hopefully he will continue to have fun with that. What a big boy!
Liam is staying with D's parents Saturday night while he and I go to my cousin's wedding. I don't think he is quite ready to handle a wedding. Or perhaps WE are not quite ready to handle a wedding with him! I'm fairly positive he would not just sleep and/or be quiet during the whole thing. And my ILs like to get their hands on him whenever possibles, so win-win!
Sunday D leaves again for a work trip! GRRRR. Man, that is getting old. I really hope his work traveling starts to lessen, as the Single Mom thing really isn't for me. I whole-heartedly give kudos to any actual Single Moms out there though. I cannot imagine!

Working it Out
Thanks everyone for your compliments. I do appreciate them. I have made progress for sure, but I still can't wear any of my old pants! I am down to 130 lbs, but I was 112 when I started this journey, and about 120 at the time of the BFP (almost one year ago now!!) I can squeeze into a size 4 these days. Sometimes my butt protests that and pleas for a size 6. Heehee. I have been running, doing Body by Bethenny yoga, pilates, and Tracy Anderson abs. Liam is unfortunately in a phase where he is not into stroller rides at all, so D and I really need to take turns working out, and we work hard to make the time. I'm lucky that he likes to work out too, so he realizes the importance to me. It's how I stay sane and manufacture energy, otherwise my sleep-deprived self would not have any! Is it rather challenging to make the time, especially now that I'm back to work and D has been traveling for work a lot. I do what I can though.
I'm glad to know it's not just with me that Liam dislikes the stroller; the daily report we received from daycare yesterday said "Liam did not enjoy his stroller ride today". LOL. At least they're honest! At first we were worried they were just going to report that everything was great each day no matter what, which is what they were doing. We get lots of comments lately that he's been "talking" up a storm, and it's funny to hear him go on and on. It makes me so sad that they get to see his smiles and hear his babbling all day while I am at work. It's such a battle I have. D has said I could stay home, and he would support that (and I'm pretty sure we could afford it). However, I really don't want to stay home full time I don't think. I know that I have a great job that I love, and leaving it would be a mistake. And trying to get fewer hours is not going to happen, as they already have warned us that we are all going to have to work full-time starting Jan 1st. Liam has to be in daycare full time anyway, so me working less than I already do (32/week) wouldn't make monetary sense. Such a battle.
I'll admit that when he's super super fussy, I am glad I DON'T stay home all day every day, as I might lose my mind! He has had some pretty epic meltdowns this weekend, and I will admit it's getting pretty wearing. Hopefully it's just a phase. I know they can't be cute and coo and babble all the time, but that would surely be nice! They have also made comments at daycare that he has quite a set of lungs on him. That he does. And he knows how to use them!

Hodge Podge
So we are back from San Fran. It was a good trip, despite both of us being a bit under the weather (D moreso than me). But he had already been out there almost a week and was ready to come home! We took a winery tour one day, and then the next day we rented a convertible and drove across the Golden Gate Bridge and up to Sonoma. The weather was awesome that day! We both missed the little L-man quite a bit!

Mmmm, wine!

In Liam news, he also was under the weather :(. Poor buddy. Angie took him to the doctor while we were gone b/c his eye was rather goopy and he was congested. They thought it could be pink eye, but it actually cleared up on its own, so now they think it was just a random virus since he had no fever and was happy. I think he still has a touch of whatever it was/is, as he is not sleeping very well at night now and has been spitting up even more. They said he projectile vomited at daycare yesterday :(. He WAS sleeping through the night somewhat regularly, but this week he has regressed back to waking up twice. I hope he feels better soon and things get back to normal for everyone! We do think the Prevacid was helping his reflux issues, so hopefully when he feels better that will be better too, as our next step would be to switch to Nutramigen formula. His doctor considers that a last resort due to the cost.
We got these Aden and Anais swaddle blankets at Target, as he was really getting too big for the original receiving blankets we had for him. He is 13.6 lbs now! He LOVES these blankets. They seem to bring him some comfort, and he loves snuggling and holding them. Such a great purchase! I believe they are made from a breathable thin muslin.
And since I know you guys were just dying to see a picture of my stomach, you're in luck! I have been working hard. Although the lbs are not coming off as quickly as I would like, I am getting smaller and more toned each week. Back fat is a b*tch to get rid of though!
I hope you all have a great weekend!

Off to San Francisco
We had our friends Mark and Angie take some "professional" 3 month pictures of Liam. Mark has a lighting kit and a good Nikon camera. I thought they turned out pretty well considering they were taken in his living room. I think we will be utilizing his skills often!
D is out in SF for a work function this week; 3rd Single Mom week for me...eeek! Tomorrow I'm heading out there for the weekend to join him. I can't wait! The last vacation I have had was in 2/09, and it was actually also to San Fran. That was a D-suggested vacation after another BFN when I was down in the dumps. We enjoyed it out there, and I'm excited to go back. Napa/Sonoma wine tour, here we come!
We also plan to rent a tandem bike and ride it across the Golden Gate bridge!
It's been a humid Sweat Fest here for much of the summer, so it will be refreshing to enjoy the cooler weather out there.
Mark and Angie are staying at our house to watch Liam and the dogs. They are so awesome :)
Hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend!

3 Months and August Favorite Things
Liam is 3 months old now! He's starting to smile and laugh a lot, as well as coo and babble. So cute! Of course this is JUST in time for me to be back at work and paying someone else big bucks to see his smiles :( I feel like the novelty of being back at work and seeing my co-workers and having adult conversations has worn off already. That's not a good sign. A co-worker said today it's too bad they can't go to daycare the FIRST 12 weeks, and then our maternity leave would start after that, when they are so much fun!!
Besides baby smiles, here are a few other things I am enjoying this August:
Mark Ruffalo in the Kids Are Alright: SWOON!
Body by Bethenny Yoga DVD....I'm seriously addicted!
Incidentally, also addicted to Bethenny's Skinny Girl Margaritas! Love this stuff because the tequila is already in there; it isn't a gross sugary mix.
These super soft vintage Gap t-shirts. I LOVE them! So comfortable.....even with spit-up all over! I *may* have gotten 4 of them. On sale of course!
So glad Weeds is back! One of my favorite shows....
